The Auténtico 2 Workbook (formerly known as Realidades 2 ) serves as a cornerstone resource for intermediate low to intermediate mid high school Spanish learners. As the supplementary practice component of the Auténtico program (Pearson/Savvas), the workbook aims to transition students from basic vocabulary recognition to functional grammatical application. This paper analyzes the workbook’s structural design, pedagogical alignment with communicative competence, and its role in scaffolding second language (L2) acquisition.
