True to the "Dummies" format, the book strips away the jargon. It starts with the absolute basics: why bookkeeping isn't just punishment for starting a business. It walks you through the famous "golden balance rule" (Activa = Passiva), explains debits vs. credits in plain Dutch, and—most importantly—dedicates entire chapters to the BTW (VAT) and the dreaded quarterly tax return.

Buy it, read the first 5 chapters and the BTW section, then put it on the shelf. You'll sleep better knowing it's there.
