Code Défaut P1525 Renault [upd] -
On F9Q 1.9 dCi engines (Laguna II, Espace IV), the same code appears for an entirely different reason:
Parameter: Brake Track 1 (Voltage) – Brake released: 11.8V Parameter: Brake Track 2 (Voltage) – Brake released: 0.2V (Pedal pressed): Track 1 drops to 0.1V, Track 2 rises to 11.7V **Fault trigger condition:** Transition time between states > 80 ms on one track while the other has already switched. This explains intermittent faults: The pedal feels normal. The brake lights work (they use a separate circuit, often a mechanical switch on the pedal arm). Yet the ECU sees a 120 ms "both tracks low" window during a quick pedal release. P1525 logs. code défaut p1525 renault
The ECU is almost never at fault. The two most common fixes are: a $15 brake pedal switch (K9K) or a $0 can of oven cleaner to decarbonize turbo vanes (F9Q). 7. The Deeper Philosophical Note On F9Q 1
A standard multimeter will not catch P1525. The ECU performs a . Yet the ECU sees a 120 ms "both
| Step | Action | Expected result | |------|--------|------------------| | 1 | Live data with Renault CLIP or DDT2000: Monitor "Brake Pedal Track 1" and "Track 2" while slowly pressing/releasing pedal. | Voltages must be strictly opposite at all times. No overlap. | | 2 | If overlap > 0.5V exists: Replace brake pedal sensor. Do not attempt to clean. | P1525 resolves. | | 3 | If sensor signals are clean: Check turbo vacuum circuit. Apply vacuum pump to VGT actuator: should hold -0.8 bar and move actuator rod smoothly. | No drop > 0.1 bar per minute. | | 4 | If VGT actuator holds vacuum but rod movement is jerky: Remove turbo, decarbonize vanes. | Manual rotation of vanes should be effortless. |
In 2003–2008 Renault models (Megane II, Scenic II, Laguna II), the brake pedal sensor assembly was placed , subject to dust, humidity from wet shoes, and mechanical vibration. The internal wiper contact design was later revised (Part number changed from 82 00 645 443 to 82 00 890 737).
