By Friday, Alex was a different developer. His coworkers saw him typing furiously, eyes glued to the screen, never touching the mouse. He opened 12 windows in 8 seconds. He moved a Slack window to workspace 4 and back with a grunt and two key taps.
One day, a blue error dialog appeared in the center of his screen, frozen. The mouse cursor spun. Alex couldn't click "OK." Panic.
One hand never left the keyboard. Mod + 3 – Teams. Mod + Shift + 4 – shoo the Spotify window to the happy place. It was like conducting an orchestra.
