By the end of Season 3, Michael has engineered a tunnel under the prison’s chapel. But the escape isn’t a simple dig. It’s a three-stage implosion of violence, betrayal, and last-second heroism. Michael, Sucre, Bellick, and a sociopath named Lechero (the inmate leader) have been digging a tunnel from a hole under a water cistern. The exit point is outside Sona’s walls. On escape night, Lechero is fatally stabbed by another inmate, Sammy. In the chaos, Sammy takes over and threatens to kill everyone. They have to climb a rusted pipe without making noise
