Dimitris the politician argued it should be rationed "equally according to caloric need" (i.e., more for him). Natasa the Diva argued it should go to the "aesthetic members." Giorgos the Uncle simply wanted to split it eight ways.
Contestants had to climb a rickety, 30-meter ladder suspended over a cliff face while being blasted by water hoses and having boxes of live eels dumped on their heads. Achilles, the wrestler, froze at rung five. He was lowered down crying, yelling, "They don’t have this in the script!"

With rations limited to olives, stale rusks ( dakos ), and the occasional can of sardines, hunger turned the camp into a powder keg.
