For the uninitiated: Torrente is a 1998 Spanish black comedy/satire directed by and starring Santiago Segura. The character is a retired cop who is racist, sexist, lazy, homophobic, and profoundly stupid. He lives with his elderly, senile father, drinks like a fish, and “solves” crimes through pure luck and brute force.
