Introduction In the pantheon of 20th- and 21st-century wind band conducting, few names command as much respect as Donald Hunsberger (1932–2023). Longtime conductor of the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Hunsberger redefined the role of the conductor as both a technician and an interpreter.
